Hakodate Star Soda is a soft drink made by Pan-Pacific Soft Drinks and conceived by The Watanabe Brothers in 2037. It is akin to Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper in taste. It has been described as addictive and cheaper than Coke and Pepsi. Most knowledge of the beverage's recipe is a trade secret. In popular culture and the Muteki Daitai PMC, it's been referred to as Hako Suta Soda.

Modern History[]

While it's a trade secret, there are theories as to how Hakodate Star Soda came to be. The least popular and least probable was that the Watanabes were messing with flavourings and tonic water, and through this, Hakodate Star Soda was born.

The most popular is that the Watanabes were working on a beverage to help their grandmother with her dry throat. The duo tried traditional Chinese medicine, which did not yield any results. However, when they fused vanilla flavouring (to be confirmed) with chocolate and a third unknown flavour, the brothers found it to be very enjoyable.

A theory with some merit to it is that the Watanabe Brothers were mixing soft drinks together after a night out on the town, and the combination of Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Dr. Pepper was the favourite combo of the duo. The alleged recipe is one third Coke, one third Pepsi, and one third Dr. Pepper. To this day, no PPSD Taste Testers can identify the recipe.

In the early days of 2039, after Mania was a success, the Brothers started experimenting, creating different flavours of Hakodate Star Soda. Their first results were Cherry Blossom, Melon, and Peach flavours. In the years since, there have been at least fifteen different flavours of Hako Suta Soda made, with each year producing at least one new flavour.

In the 2040s, when the Soda Wars were in full swing, Hakodate Star Soda was Pan-Pacific Soft Drinks' best-selling beverage in overseas and domestic markets.

During World War 3, Pan Pacific Soft Drinks started working with big American retailers under the table, in order to keep the money flowing. The soft drinks would be shipped via container ships, owned by the corporation requesting the popular drink, while the Soft Drink company received a larger share of the sales. As for restaurants, most fast-food joints received what is best described as a "watered down" version of the soda from North American factories.

Beverage[]

Hakodate Star Soda has less calories than Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Dr. Pepper, but is described as having more flavour. Hako Suta Soda has a taste sweeter than Pepsi, but becomes stronger like Coca-Cola. It uses cane sugar, and has a decent amount of caffeine. The beverage has a dark brown colour.

The bottle is very 1940s-styled in its appearance. Like other Pan-Pacific Soft Drinks, it is made of glass. It's slim, like a Coke bottle.
